a brownish tinge on golden pond
exodus this week
missing from the floating frond
his nid-dip up the creek

come nid-dip nid-dip from the grass
or from under homely logs
me and my nid-ippers are feeling faint
it's the same in other bogs

never mind it's good for growth
here nothin's ever done
give me production with a label line
ecologically spun

we need those serving images though
or the gumboot lobby will scream
who let it be known to commoners
about nid-ips and clean streams!

let's prove the water's clear again
in that revolting unsubdivisible soggy block
so the tipper backed up to the creek
and off slid heaps of stock

a niche industry emerges in
that life measure canny cog
cause and effect now rationalized
as we vote for floating frogs
